Career Database
Career Information Database

This database will guide you to information for over 500 careers and to additional resources that will assist you in researching career options. For each career you will find a brief description, a DOT/ONET number, a Holland Code, other titles for that career, links to more in-depth career information, contact information and links for professional organizations, and a list of related occupations. At the bottom of each record is a link to our CLIC resource database, which will provide you with a list of printed materials that are available in the CLIC and that include additional information for the specific career.

To find career information, choose from the following three options:
  • Keyword Search: Enter any part of a word in the Keyword field and click on "Search by Keyword". This will bring up all careers that have that keyword anywhere in the record.
  • Career/Title Search: Enter any part of a career title in the Career/Title field and click on "Search by Title". This will bring up any career that includes your search term in the main title or AKA fields.
  • Advanced Search: Click on "Advanced Search" and then enter your search term in a specific field to search the database for that term in the field that you have specified. This is the best way to search for careers by Holland Code or DOT/ONET number.

We continuously work to improve this database. However, because of the amount of information included and our limited resources we recognize that links may become outdated or other issues may arise before we are able to make the necessary updates. Please send any questions or feedback to clic@byu.edu and we will respond as soon as possible.
