BYU Prelaw Advisement

Welcome to the BYU Prelaw Advisement Center website. Our goal is to help students through the law school application process and to help students learn more about the legal profession. In addition to our friendly and knowledgeable staff, our office and website contain valuable information and resources that will help you understand the application process, obtain information about law schools, learn what law school is like, and begin to understand the variety of employment opportunities available to law school graduates. Feel free to stop by our office anytime during our hours of operation with questions or to explore the many resources available. Our editor can help you with personal statements, resumes, and addendums.

PRELAW ADVISEMENT SCHEDULE, SPRING/SUMMER 2008

OFFICE HOURS:
Monday - Friday, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
*Prelaw Peer Advisors are available during ALL office hours and can answer most prelaw questions.

PRELAW ADVISOR WALK-IN HOURS:
If you would like to meet with the Prelaw Advisor, Catherine Bramble, her walk-in hours are from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday. If you would like to make an appointment with her for another time, please send an email to prelaw@byu.edu.

EDITOR WALK-IN HOURS:
Megan Hambly is our Preprofessional Editor. You may come in during her hours with your resume or personal statment and she will give you suggestions and feedback. Her office hours for Fall Semester 2008 are MWF 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. beginning Wednesday, August 27th. You may also email her at megan_hambly@byu.edu for electronic review and feedback, or to set-up an alternate appointment time.

Do you want to receive activity, service, internship, employment and law school announcements? Sign up for the Prelaw E-Newsletter! Newsletters are sent out weekly during the Fall/Winter and bi-monthly during the Spring/Summer.

SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT: APPLICATIONS FOR FALL 2008 PRELAW INTERNSHIPS

If you would like to apply for a Prelaw Internship for Fall 2008 (see the "Legal Internship" link for more information), applications will be posted on August 4th, 2008 on this website. We will have hardcopies available in the office, and we will announce and attach the application to the Prelaw Newsletter. The deadline to turn-in your application will be August 8th, 2008. We will notify you via email by August 11th, 2008 as to whether you have been accepted or not.
